Magical Sounds

After feeling fed up watching my team unluckily lose today I ambled out for a walk. My ears were assailed by that wonderfully evocative sound that bubbly yet melancholic whistling cry of the Curlew. I feel really lucky to be able to live near the Severn and be able to see and hear the Curlew. Sadly these bird is endangered mainly because of habitat loss. The picture below was the only one close enough to photograph, also there is a poor picture of frog spawn in our pond (might have another go tomorrow!)

A quiz today I thought ought to be on music because of the Curlew.

a) Which English band has had a record 36 top ten albums in the US charts?    b) What musical does “Walk Alone” originate from?  c) In the song American Pie by Don Mclean what did February do to the singer?  d) What nationality was the composer Dvorak?  e) What year was the Live Aid concert?
